Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐ The plot twists!
I strongly recommend that before reading this book read Friends in need. Why? If you are not familiar with British English, it will help you get used to the language structure used in the book and will also give you a background about the characters and how they became Vigilaunties.
That said… My review.
I received this book through Book Sirens for free in exchange for an honest review. The reason I chose this book was the cover and title, they caught my attention immediately. At first everything felt very slow, as if the plot had no direction, so the first 32 pages were quite difficult to read, once that point is overcome everything gets interesting.
It has some pretty intriguing plot twists, which made me doubt my assumptions at first, they ended up being just as I assumed, but made me doubt.
I enjoyed the story. I laughed at Carola's witticisms and read from beginning to end totally caught up in the plot.
About 50% of the book the identity of the Goldsmiths Groper was quite obvious, but because of the investigation and assumptions that the Vigilaunties carried I doubted my conclusions. Which I think is great because although it was quite obvious, it was still captivating.
And the scene at the end with the Vigilaunties in the tea house responding so calmly, fabulous!
Someone to give them an Oscar for best performance! π€£π
