Claimed by the Cowboy

Details

Calder promised to never chase after Nate…but he can’t hold back from claiming what’s always been his when Nate returns.

A protective bronco buster. A spirited horse jockey. They feared their love had turned to ash, but true love never dies. It only smolders.

Nate was born to inherit his family’s horse ranch, but he grew up with dreams too big for his small hometown. Calder is the ideal ranch hand. A strong back. A steady countenance. He was supposed to be breaking in the stallions, not taking a roll in the hay with the boss’ only son.

Their forbidden love was too strong to hide forever. Nate begged Calder to leave and start a new life together. A misunderstanding led to Nate running away…alone.

Years later, Nate is a rising star in horse racing until a fall at the track leaves his leg broken and his big city life shattered. With nowhere else to go and no one to help with his rehabilitation, Nate accepts his estranged family’s invitation to return to the little town of Grand Pines, Oregon.

Nate falls again. This time right into bed with his former flame. This unexpected homecoming rekindles Nate and Calder’s simmering passion into a blazing inferno. But with Calder still nursing his broken heart and Nate recovering from his career-ending injury, will they heal together or heal apart?

Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Loved it

I didn't know that an insta-love could be second chance romance, but apparently it can 🀭

This story combines the best features of those tropes, condensed into a short story that can be read in one sitting.

Nate and Calder are the definition of sweet and tender romance, but enhanced.

I was so glad they were able to have a much-needed conversation, even though it was 10 years later, and while I didn't like that Nate ran away without giving Cal a chance to consider his proposal, I also understand that maybe that wasn't the time for them; Nate needed to live his dream, although of course, it was wrong that he left without saying goodbye.
